The agenda for next week’s Pensacola City Council has nothing about the Airport Food Services contract that Mayor Ashton Hayward has recommended be given to the St. Louis-based firm, OHM Concessions. The city council had voted last week to postpone its vote on the recommendation until Oct. 10.
The item hasn’t been included on the Oct. 10 council agenda. Which seems strange? If the council voted to have it on the agenda, how can it be left off legally?
It has been awhile since I’ve dealt with Robert’s Rules of Order, but I don’t think the mayor, city council executive or city administrator can pull an item from the agenda that the city council voted to place on it….without another council vote.
The proper action should be to include an agenda item from the mayor asking the city council to postpone its vote to the next meeting.
We’re are four years into the new charter and they still can’t seem to get it right.
