Attorney Alex Andrade is filing to run for the Florida House District 2 seat currently held by Frank White.
Andrade earlier this year was appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the 1st Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission. Andrade is an attorney with Moore, Hill & Westmoreland. He was part of the 2016 Inweekly Rising Star class.
He was voted 2017 Best of the Coast Rising Star. In his questionnaire for the issue, Andrade said:
What inspired you to get started? Pensacola is special. Coming from out of town, I can attest to the fact that Pensacola is beautifully unique. I feel blessed to learn from talented and successful mentors in an environment that captures my imagination.
Now that you’re established, what motivates you to keep going? I love living in Pensacola. There are so many genuine opportunities for young people in town. From Leadership Pensacola, to Pensacola Young Professionals to onbikes Pensacola, everything I’ve done has increased my love of Pensacola.
What’s the next goal or project you want to see happen for you and your business? I’m hoping onbikes Pensacola continues to grow, and we see more young people getting out of the car or off the bus, and back into nature with a bike and a helmet. The more people who choose to walk or bike instead of drive, the healthier our community will become.
White, another Inweekly Rising Star, filed last month to run for Florida Attorney General.
Alex earned his J.D. from the University of Florida (UF) Levin College of Law, where he served as President of the Trial Team and Chief Justice of the UF Supreme Court. For his service to the University of Florida, Alex was inducted into the UF Hall of Fame.
