All That Jazz

Mayor Ashton Hayward has declared the week of April 9 as “Pensacola JazzFest Week”and specifically saluted Dr. F. Norman Vickers for his efforts to promote Jazz in Pensacola.

In conjunction with the United Conference of Mayor’s “National Jazz Day,” on April 13, the Mayor’s office will present a key to the city along with the official proclamation to Dr. Vickers at the Pensacola JazzFest. The presentation is scheduled for Saturday, April 14 at 1:50 p.m. A Navy color guard will present the colors at that time as well.

The 29th annual Pensacola Jazzfest will be Saturday and Sunday, April 14 and 15 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Seville Square. The festival is free, family-friendly and celebrates all types of jazz attracting approximately 16,000 listeners over the weekend. Local and regional artists will take the stage along with college and high school jazz bands. There is also an arts and crafts exhibition.
