Another $15 million coming to Escambia County

Escambia County is pleased to announce over $15 million in state funding has been awarded to the county from the Resilient Florida Grant Program. The funding is part of $300 million from the Florida Department of Environmental Protections awarded by Governor Ron DeSantis on Thursday, July 13, for 71 new resilience and adaptation projects and three previously awarded projects to help prepare coastal and inland communities for the adverse impacts of flooding and storm surge.

“Obtaining this grant funding is monumental for our citizens and for our infrastructure,” said County Administrator Wes Moreno. “We’re thankful to state leadership for recognizing the importance of these projects and the impact they will have on our community. I commend staff on their dedication to building a resilient Escambia County through these projects as well as the grant process.”

In total, Escambia County received $15,899,451 through the Resilient Florida Grant Program. The following projects have been awarded funding:
