Another one of Cody’s tricks

That’s what local contractors are telling the IN about Roads, Inc. convincing the Escambia County Commission to rebid the Maplewoods drainage project. Few doubt there was any mistake in the bid made by Roads.

One contractor laughingly told me that Roads officials probably convinced the commissioners that he was going to go out of business and would have to lay off workers if didn’t get this bid. The commissioners and the bid process have become jokes.

There is also support for Gulf Equipment, the Mobile-based company that was the low bidder. Gulf has done several projects, public and private, in this area. It does, in fact, employ locals and does use local sub-contractors. Gulf has done work at the GE plant and worked on the Home Depots in the area.

Roads, Inc. does work in Mobile and other parts of Alabama.
