ECSO press release:
A woman in the area of Brent Lane and I-110 was assaulted by a man impersonating a Law Enforcement Officer last evening at around midnight.
The woman described the suspect as a white male approximately 6â0â with dark hair and blue eyes. The suspect had a New England type accent. The vehicle the suspect was driving was described as a White Crown Victoria with a spotlight and leather seats. The suspect was wearing some type of uniform with no name tag and a belt. The description given by the victim closely matches that of the suspect from a week ago that stopped a teenager on Beulah Rd.
If anyone is approached by someone matching this description and not wearing a Law Enforcement Uniform, the Escambia Sheriffâs Office is advising citizens to question the subject and look for the following clues: First, ask for a marked unit to come to the scene. Call 911 and see if there is an officer in the area and if not, request one. When in doubt, request a commission card be shown to you. Every Deputy carries a commission card with the agency name, deputyâs name and expiration date along with a photo.
