After much careful deliberation in recent days, I am regretfully announcing today my withdrawal from the Republican primary for Escambia County Superintendent of Schools.
I have reached this decision after concluding that it is simply impractical for two members of the Superintendent’s immediate staff to pursue the same elected position. It has become clear to me that such dynamics provide the potential for a disruption of the daily operation of the school district.
In light of my brief candidacy and my daily role as the district spokesman, I feel it would be inappropriate for me to publicly endorse either of the remaining candidates.
I will have no further public comment on this matter.
