Arrest made in Billings murder case

Sheriff David Morgan and State Attorney Bill Eddins just completed a press conference to announce the arrest of Leonard Patrick Gonzalez, Sr. for tampering with evidence in the Billings murder case. According to Morgan, Gonzalez tried to alter the appearance of the red van used in the murders. The sheriff hinted that this case is a “humdinger” and will reach beyond this area. More arrests are expected.

According to the Escambia County Clerk of Courts website, Gonzalez has a several traffic infractions including two DUI arrests, driving without a license, careless driving and driving without proof of insurance. He also pleaded guilty o writing worthless checks in 2003 and marijuana possession in 2002.
