Arrest made in Morris Court assault

The Pensacola Police Department has completed an investigation of a fight that occurred January 21 in the 1200 block of North M Street at Morris Court.
During the fight, Ronika Sconiers, 18, of Pensacola was injured and later died at a local hospital.

The investigation has led to the arrest of Miyoshi Robinson, 21, of Pensacola. She was charged with aggravated battery, which is a second degree felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison. Her bond is set at $500,000.

In addition to the arrest of Robinson, two other individuals involved in the initial altercation were charged. Shanelle Plair, 19, and Quiasjinee Miller, 18, both of Pensacola were charged with affray. Their bond was set at $1,000 each.

The Pensacola Police Department has been working with the State Attorney’s Office during the investigation and determined aggravated battery is the appropriate charge considering circumstances surrounding the fight and subsequent death of Sconiers. Police and State Attorney’s office personnel have been in contact with Sconiers’ family throughout the investigation and briefed them regarding the recent arrests.

The incident occurred around 1:15 a.m. January 21 in the 1200 block of North M Street at Morris Court. Investigators determined a group of females ranging in age from their late teens to early 20s attended a party in the area of Fairfield Drive and Pace Boulevard, and then went to a park at Morris Court where a fight occurred.
