Arrest made on downtown gunshot

Press Release One man was arrested early this morning after police heard a single gun shot near Jefferson and Intendencia streets.

Terrance Antonio Combs, 21, of 10801 Bridge Creek Dr., Pensacola, was charged with carrying a concealed firearm.

Officers Chad Willhite and Coy McKenna were patrolling near Jefferson and Intendencia streets around 2 a.m. when they heard a single gun shot. Officers responded to the area, determined the shot came from a parking lot behind Seville Quarter and found a car trying to leave the parking lot.

The vehicle was stopped, five male occupants were removed from the vehicle and interviewed. During a search of the vehicle, a handgun was found under the driver’s seat. Willhite said the gun was located on the back side of the seat, which allowed rear passengers immediate access to the weapon. Combs had been sitting in the middle rear passenger seat.

Combs was arrested after one occupant told police he saw him conceal the gun in the front of his waistband, one said he saw Combs put the gun under the driver’s seat after he heard the gun shot, and two said they didn’t see him fire the weapon but believed he had done so.

No one was reported injured in the incident.
