Ascension Sacred Heart named to Newsweek prestigious list

Newsweek’s prestigious 2025 list of the best-in-state hospitals includes Sacred Heart Pensacola and Sacred Heart Emerald Coast, placing the Ascension Sacred Heart facilities alongside just 25 other hospitals in Florida.

  • The Sacred Heart hospitals were the only two in the Panhandle to be featured on the list.

“Sacred Heart Pensacola always strives to positively impact our community through patient care and clinical excellence,” said Sacred Heart Pensacola President & CEO Will Condon. “Anyone in our area who needs healthcare can trust that when they enter our hospital, they will receive it with a focus on quality and patient satisfaction.”

Newsweek and Statista highlighted 700 hospitals across the United States to help consumers find trusted medical facilities. This year, the rankings were compiled using quality metrics from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and the American Hospital Association Annual Survey of Hospitals Database, a nationwide online survey among medical professionals, results from Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers Systems patient experience surveys and a voluntary Patient-Reported Outcome Measures implementation survey.

“We are grateful for our care teams and support staff at Sacred Heart Emerald Coast who have earned this recognition through their dedication and hard work,” said Trey Abshier, Sacred Heart Emerald Coast President & CEO. “They are the reason we are continually honored for quality, patient experience, and patient outcomes.”

Both of these Ascension facilities have regularly earned distinguishing designations. Most recently, Fortune & PINC AI ranked Sacred Heart as one of the top 15 health systems in the U.S., one of only two in the state. Emerald Coast also earned a top-rated ‘Five Stars’ in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) 2024 Overall Hospital Quality Star Ratings, one of only 15 hospitals in the state to earn this rating, and Sacred Heart Pensacola has earned seven straight ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grades from the Leapfrog Group.
