Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola earns ‘A’

Sacred Heart Pensacola earned an ‘A’ spring 2024 Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national watchdog organization that grades almost 3,000 general hospitals throughout the United States. This is the seventh consecutive ‘A’ for the hospital, spread out over the last three and a half years.

The Safety Grade assigns an ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’, ‘D’, or ‘F’ grade to all general acute care hospitals across the country. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program exclusively based on hospital prevention of medical errors, infections and injuries.

Sacred Heart Pensacola is one of 231 hospitals in the U.S. to earn seven straight ‘A’s and one of only 29 hospitals in Florida to achieve this feat.

“I want to thank everyone who walks through our doors every morning for making this happen. An ‘A’ grade means we are truly committed to putting patients first,” said Will Condon, Sacred Heart Pensacola President and CEO. “We are blessed to be surrounded by such a driven and compassionate group of associates here.”

The grading system is peer-reviewed and open to public scrutiny. Hospital Safety Grade results are based on more than 30 national performance measures and are updated each fall and spring.

“Everyone who works at Sacred Heart Pensacola should be proud of this ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “It takes complete dedication of every level, and an ironclad commitment to putting patients first.”
