Inweekly has joined the Gulf Coast Citizen Diplomacy Council and the family & friends of Ashley Hardaway Theriot to establish a study abroad memorial scholarship.
Ashley was generous even in death with six successful organ transplants. With this scholarship, we honor her adventuresome spirit, dedication to service, and joie de vivre. She was an intrepid traveler and was dedicated to citizen diplomacy, the concept that closing the gaps between people and cultures is a responsibility we each have in creating a better world.
Jena Melançon, executive director of the Gulf Coast Citizen Diplomacy Council, reports, “We are getting closer and closer to our goal. Over 150 have donated, including from Pakistan, France, and Canada. A fun run is being planned for May in Melbourne, Australia, to benefit the scholarship as well”
