The Escambia County Commission is looking for people to sit on its RESTORE Act advisory committee’s two at-large seats.
In an effort to assess potential uses for Escambia’s portion of money realized from Clean Water Act fines levied against BP for the 2010 oil spill, the county commission is establishing an advisory committee. The nine-member committee will consist of a representative from the city of Pensacola, a person representing environmental concerns, and representatives from the business community, financial industry, transportation, government, an at-large citizen and two unrestricted at-large seats.
The two unrestricted at-large seats will be determined by commission approval. Recommendations for these two seats will be made to the commissioners by Interim County Administrator George Touart and Assistant County Administrator Larry Newsom.
Individuals interested in sitting in one of these two seats should forward resumes to Newsom at 221 Palafox Place, Suite 420, Pensacola, Fla. 32502. Resumes must be received no later than Jan. 18 for consideration.
