After 67 years of dedication and commitment to the Pensacola community, Patrick G. Emmanuel has retired from the law firm of Emmanuel, Sheppard & Condon. Mr. Emmanuel earned his law degree at the University of Florida, after serving as a Major in a tank destroyer battalion in World War II. He then began what became a long and prestigious legal career, joining the firm in 1946 that was to become Emmanuel, Sheppard, & Condon.
Patrick Emmanuel’s areas of practice included contract and commercial litigation, estate planning, trust and probate, and health law. But he was particularly recognized for his work in real estate law, being named in each volume of The Best Lawyers in America, since 1983, as one of Florida’s outstanding lawyers in real estate.
Over the years, Mr. Emmanuel served his profession in countless capacities, including President of the Florida Bar and the Florida Bar Foundation, member of the Board of Governors of the Florida Bar, Chairman of numerous Florida Bar committees, and Chairman of the Federal Judicial Nominating commission of Florida.
The legal veteran was also actively involved in the Pensacola community, serving as Chairman of the Advisory Board of Sacred Heart Hospital for 10 years. In addition, he served on the board of the Northwest Florida Crippled Children’s Home, the March of Dimes, and the James Baroco Foundation. He was recognized for his service by the Florida Bar, earning the Florida Bar’s President’s Pro Bono Service Award, as well as the Florida Bar Foundation’s “2001 Medal of Honor Award.â€
