Today the union members (about 90%) cast their votes on the tentative labor agreement between Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1395 and the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) – Escambia County Area Transit Management on behalf of the bargaining unit.
The members voted about 94-95% rejecting the tentative labor contract between the parties. No non-members within the bargaining unit voted. The members were very specific of the articles they were not in agreement with.
The Union leadership looks forward to scheduling continued negotiations with Management to reach a final labor agreement. Thank you to the members who participated in this very democratic process.
Only 3 members supported the contract. The Union leadership recommended the contract and supported it. That means only 1 vote besides Union leadership supported the tentative contract. The members have spoken. They expect better. The fight continues…..ATU Strong
