Bach’s Magnificent Mass in B Minor on Saturday, May 10

The Choral Society of Pensacola concludes its current season with a performance of one of the most magnificent and challenging works in all of choral/symphonic literature – Johann Sebastian Bach’s Mass in B Minor. The concert takes place at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at St. Paul Catholic Church, 3131 Hyde Park Rd.

The Choral Society’s 60-member chorus will be joined by the Choral Society Orchestra and four professional guest soloists, all under the baton of Choral Society Artistic Director, Xiaolun Chen. Guest soloists include Sheila Murphy, soprano; Anne Duraski, mezzo-soprano; Leo Day, Tenor; and Matthew Burns, bass-baritone.

The Choral Society is pleased to recognize The Ratcliffe Foundation as Concert Sponsors for this performance of Bach’s Mass in B Minor. The Choral Society’s media partners are the Pensacola News Journal and WUWF 88.1 FM.

Tickets for the concert are $20.00 for reserved section seating, $15.00 for general admission, and $5.00 for students. Visa and MasterCard can be used to purchase tickets in advance, and there is a $2.00 discount per ticket on the purchase of reserved or general admission tickets for groups of ten or more.
