Back-to-School Vax and Dash on Saturday

On Saturday, Aug. 7, Community Health Northwest Florida, in partnership with Escambia County District 3 County Commissioner Lumon May, will host “Back-to-School Vax and Dash,” a COVID-19 vaccination clinic and backpack giveaway at Brownsville Community Center, 3200 W. De Soto Street. All individuals ages 12 and up, including students, parents, guardians and teachers are eligible and encouraged to participate.

Vaccination will take place inside the Brownsville Community Center from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The first 200 people to receive the COVID-19 vaccine on Saturday will receive a $25 Walmart gift card and a drawing entry in addition to student backpacks/nylon bags filled with school supplies. Eligible persons who wish to participate in COVID-19 vaccination may call the Community Health Vaccine Call Center at 850-439-3358 or simply walk in at their convenience during clinic hours.

Student backpacks/nylon bags filled with school supplies for those not participating in vaccination will be distributed to the general public drive-by style on Saturday from 9-10 a.m., first-come, first-served, while supplies last. Individuals who wish to participate in the drive-thru backpack distribution should drive up to the parking lot in front of Brownsville Community Center between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m..

IMPORTANT

Limit one backpack/nylon bag per student; student must be present to receive backpack.

Vaccination participants 18 and older will be required to show photo ID.

Individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 14 days or have had symptoms of illness (fever, cough, shortness of breath) in the past 14 days should not attend this event or receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
