Barrale to head Special Olympics

Press Release: Special Olympics Florida announces the appointment of Jessica Barrale as Special Olympics Escambia County’s Local Coordinator. Her responsibilities include recruiting new athletes and volunteers as well as fundraising, event planning, marketing and public relations.

“We are thrilled to have Barrale as part of our team” said Kevin Hermida, Vice President, Field Services, Special Olympics Florida. “Her experience working for local and county governments, coupled with her enthusiasm and commitment to providing increased opportunism for Escambia County’s athletes with intellectual disability, makes her a great fit. We invite others to volunteer and join Jessica’s efforts to take Special Olympics Escambia County to the next level.”

Barrale has worked with the Downtown Improvement Board, the City of Pensacola Parks and Recreation Department and The Autism Society of the Panhandle. She graduated from the University of West Florida where she majored in Business Marketing.

“I’ve hit the ground running and look forward to working with all of the great volunteers, supporters and participants of Special Olympics Escambia County,” said Barrale. “I’ve always wanted to do something purposeful in my career and I truly believe that this organization changes lives. I know it will change mine, as well.”

The mission of Special Olympics Florida is to help people with intellectual disabilities participate as productive and respected members of society at large, by offering them a fair opportunity to develop and demonstrate their skills and talents through sports training and competition, and by increasing the public’s awareness of their capabilities and needs.
