School Board member Jeff Bergosh has posted on his blog what happened at the board workshop regarding the proposed sale of the closed Brownsville Middle School to George Hawthorne and his Diversity Program Advisors. His comments confirm my earlier Buzz.
Hawthorne had not returned numerous calls from the district. “According to the superintendent and his staff, the idea that we may no longer have a viable interested party is appearing to be a reality,” writes Bergosh.
However, at the conclusion of the workshop, Superintendent Thomas let the board know that during the course of the meeting Mr. Hawthorne had made contact with the district and that he was still interested in the property.
Funny coincidence, huh?
