Thank you so much Rick for having City Council hero Jennifer Brahier on your show today. She is a worker! She’s out in the City looking at facilities, City services, listening to the citizens, and working to solve major, decades long problems. She identified many major issues with the lack of maintenance to our City Park facilities. The fact that there wasn’t even a LINE ITEM in the City’s budget for Park repairs is shocking, while at the same time…answers many questions we always had about lack of maintenance in our neighborhood parks. I’m glad that Jennifer led the change for a better contract with the YMCA who manages the pools, so that the City’s citizens would have access to the pools this summer and not be turned away. I love that the rate structure is higher for non-City residents. City property owners pay an additional 2 mil in property taxes so that we have amenities like these parks and pools to enjoy. Thank you Jennifer Brahier, Mayor Reeves, City Staff, and the other City Council members for all working together to improve Pensacola.
