Gulf Power has a new president, Stan Connally. Over the past two decades, the omen of pending hurricanes is our electric utility getting a new leader. Travis J. Bowden took in the reins in 1994; Pensacola was hit by two storms in 1995–Erin and Opal. Susan Story became the president in 2003. Pensacola was struck by Ivan in 2004 and Dennis in 2005.
There were two other presidents in this time frame – Thomas Fanning and Mark Crosswhite, but both only served one year.
If Connally is president of Gulf Power more than a year, we could be in trouble.
