For fans of the Walker Holmes series, Big Boy is the mixed chocolate Labrador that pushes Holmes to exercise in the morning, hates joggers and is the mascot of his newspaper, The Pensacola Insider. There was a real Big Boy, who lived a full life with the Outzen women and the Independent News for his 14 years. Last weekend he collapsed and was diagnosed with acute renal failure. We had to put him down this afternoon.
He will be missed.
