Bill Nelson is luckiest man alive

GOP candidate for U.S. senate Katherine Harris declared yesterday( ) that she want barriers to oil drilling off U.S. coastlines lowered and attacked Nelson for blocking a bill that would have opened up drilling in the eastern Gulf.

Since Harris trails incumbent U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson in the polls by nearly 30 points and only about 51% of the state wants off-shore drilling in the Gulf of Mexico, this political move isn’t expected to help much.
