Press Release: A blizzard is coming to Pensacola! Yes, really! 5K Events and the Pensacola Ice Flyers are bringing up to 20,000 pounds of REAL SNOW to Old Seville Square and Bartram Park. The fun begins at 9:00 and the run begins at 10:00am on Saturday, December 7th. The route will take participants through beautiful downtown – along the way, three “Blizzard Zones” will blow cold artificial snow on runners. But the finish line is where the fun really begins. Twenty–thousand of real snow will cover slides and sledding areas to set the stage for a blizzard party complete with snowballs, food, kids’ activities, music, and tons of fun.

Registration for the event is $30, with the price increasing to $35 after December 1. Pre-registrants will be entered for a chance to win a Pensacola Ice Flyers gift. Discounted rates are also available for military and children 12 and younger. Each registration includes a free ticket to a Pensacola Ice Flyers regular season home game which is a $20.00 value. For more details, or to register, visit www.blizzardonthebeach.com.

The whole community is invited to come out and enjoy a day in the snow! The Snow Play area is open from 10:00 am until 2:00 PM. Adults and children can enjoy a fun snow slide and there is a designated snow area for children age 13 and younger. Snow Play tickets are $7 in advance and $10 day of.

Thank you to this year’s run sponsors: Hopjacks, Pensacola Ice Flyers, Wicked Deeds, Kona Ice, Sunbelt Rentals, Tin Cow and Coca Cola. Proceeds from the blizzard will benefit Gulf Coast Kid’s House.
