The Wayne Dalton company, the worlds leader in garage door manufacturing, will be suspending most of its plant operations in Ellison Field effective Jan. 16, 2009.
The plant first opened in Pensacola in 1985.
A press release from the company said the Garage Door Operator, Fabric Shield, R&D departments and the Regional Operations Center will be not be affected by the restructuring, but more than 260 positions will be moved or lost.
“Due to the loyal and very dedicated workforce, this was a difficult, but prudent decision to restructure the Pensacola operation,” said Senior Vice President of Human Resources George Keller in a press release.
