The Early Learning Coalition of Escambia County and City of Pensacola Neighborhood Services Department will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Born Learning Trail at Legion Field, part of the Theophalis May Resource Center. The public is invited to attend.
The Born Learning Trail, developed by the Early Learning Coalition, is a series of 10 signs that are installed outdoors at local community centers and parks. The signs carry messages that encourage young children to get active and have fun while boosting their language and literacy skills. Children follow the “trail†of signs featuring age appropriate and simple-to-construct activities that they can do outdoors or in. The signs also encourage and promote interaction between children and their parents and/or caregiver.
This is the second Born Learning Trail that the Early Learning Coalition has installed. The first trail was installed in Bayview Park. The project is sponsored by Florida Blue and building materials for the project were provided by Home Depot.
