Born to Run

The half marathon and marathon training programs are now open for registration at Running Wild.

The half marathon, 16-week training program teaches runners to comfortably run 13.1 miles. Participants need to be running at least 15 miles per week prior to the first day of training. Practices are Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:30 p.m.

The program begins July 24 and ends with the Pensacola Half Marathon on November 11.  The cost is $185 and includes two coached weekly training sessions, scheduled coached Saturday long runs, weekly training schedule, $15 coupon for running shoes, monthly seminars, running shirt and entry fee for Pensacola half marathon.

The marathon training program is open for first-time marathoners and veteran marathoners. Each participant gets an individualized training schedule with four to six days of running a week. As with the half marathon program, participants must be running at least 15 miles per week prior to training.

The marathon program begins July 19 and ends with the Pensacola Marathon on November 11. The group trains together on Saturdays at 6 a.m. for the long run and an optional run on Tuesdays at 6 a.m. There is also four to six days of workouts, which includes: tempo runs, marathon pace runs, medium long runs and long runs. The cost is $195 and includes personalized weekly training schedule and coached guidance, group workouts, monthly seminars, running shirt, $15 coupon for running shoes, $15 coupon for trigger point total kit, amphipod water bottle, training log and entry for the Pensacola Marathon.
