Gov. Bob Riley submitted the state of Alabama’s interim lack of revenue claim for $148 million claim directly to incoming BP CEO Bob Dudley on Aug. 12 during a meeting in Montgomery. The Montgomery Advertiser is reporting that BP has denied it. Instead as they do so well, BP pointed out all the other money it has spent: “’more than $350 million of payments to and investments in Alabama,’ including $ 62 million in state payments and claims; $127 million in individual and business claims; $120 million in Vessels of Opportunity payments; $22 million in tourism grants; and $21 million in research, behavioral health and other costs.”
