Panel of Experts Discuss Oil Spill’s Impact on Gulf Coast
WSRE Airs Special “Connecting the Community” LIVE Thursday at 7PM

Pensacola, Fla. — WSRE, Viewer Supported PBS for the Gulf Coast, will air a special live episode of “Connecting the Community” on Thursday, May 6, 7-8 p.m., as a panel of experts discuss the Gulf Coast Oil Spill and its impact on our area. This special episode of “Connecting the Community – Oil Spill on the Gulf Coast”, hosted by Lloyd Patterson, will provide citizens the opportunity to hear directly from people involved in the management of the Gulf Coast Oil Spill – an evolving environmental and economic crisis. Immediately following this special “Connecting the Community”, WSRE will re-air its award-winning documentary “Gulf Islands National Seashore – The Treasure of the Gulf Coast” at 8 p.m.

Guests confirmed to appear at this time include Hope Lanier from BP American Inc.; Okaloosa County State Representative Matt Gaetz; Escambia County Commission Chair & District 4 Commissioner Grover Robinson IV; Matt Mooneyham, Director of Development Services for the Santa Rosa Island Authority; Brunie Emmanuel, Chairman of Programs and Services for BRACE; Santa Rosa County Commission Chair and District 4 Commissioner Gordon Goodin; and a spokesperson from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. (Guests are subject to change as the response to the oil crisis develops.)

Viewers will hear directly from those involved in the management of this crisis, what is being done to prepare and protect our shorelines, and how every citizen can help.
