BP hot line calls go nowhere

KHOU in Houston, TX recently interviewed, under the condition of anonymity, an employee hired to receive calls for BP to talk about how the call center handles the calls from our area.

Over 200,000 phone calls have been received from frustrated and anxious Gulf Coast residents since the hot lines were established. I was told by one reader that he had to spell “Pensacola” for the person answering his call about tarballs and he was asked to give a GPS location.

In the KHOU report, “Janice” says the messages left go nowhere. Knowing this, many of the call center workers just jot down “Blah, Blah, Blah.”
