BP will take no more new claims

BP is pulling out of the claims process early according to a company press release. BP will stop accepting new claims into its system at the end of Wednesday, August 18. From August 19 – 22, individuals and businesses will be asked to file a claim when the Ken Feinberg’s Gulf Coast Claims Facility (GCCF) is operational on August 23. BP’s Immediate Action Claims Team will continue to operate through Sunday, August 22, for existing claimants only.

I recommend Sheriff Morgan placed deputies on all roads leaving Escambia County. Otherwise, we may wake up on August 23 and find there is no BP presence in Northwest Florida, except for a few locally-owned gas stations.
