Bras Across the Bridge raises $20K

Baptist Health Care and Pensacola Hondas 7th annual Bras Across the Bridge raised $20,000 for Baptist Health Care Foundations Mammogram Fund. This fund helps provide mammograms to qualified women who are not financially able to get one on their own.

More than 300 new bras were donated by the Bras Across the Bridge participants. The bras will be donated to Gulf Coast Kids House and FamiliesFirst Network to help women and girls in need.

The men and women who support Bras Across the Bridge are one of a kind, says Heather Moorer, Baptist Health Care Foundation development director. They are passionate about keeping the funds local and helping women in our community. Its a very moving experience that could potentially help save lives.

According to the National Cancer Institute, more than 240,000 new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed in 2016 nearly 40,500 will not survive. While there is no cure for breast cancer, early detection enables early treatment and increases chances for survival.
