We have heard that former Pensacola City Councilwoman Ann Hill has prefiled to run for Pensacola mayor. If you search “Ann Hill of Mayor,” you get her Facebook page, which has a photo of her standing in front of the Supervisor of Elections office. The photo was uploaded around 11:30 a.m. today.

Election Supervisor Robert Bender confirmed that Hill delivered her paperwork this morning, and his staff is reviewing it. Mayor D.C. Reeves has not prefiled for re-election.

Who is Ann Hill?

Ann Hill represented District 6 from November 2018 until 2022. She served as Council Vice President and Council President during her tenure. She played an active role in efforts such as the Bruce Beach Revitalization Project, working to improve city waterfront access. Hill championed issues including housing, homelessness, environmental protection, and enhancing residents’ experiences.

She lost re-election to Allison Patton in 2022.

March 6

In February 2024, Jonathan Green delivered to Pensacola City Hall the Committee to Save Malcolm Yonge Community Center‘s petition affidavit with the 10 names of city electors needed to start the petition process to reverse the decision to demolish the Malcolm Yonge Gym. The names included former city council members Ann Hill and Sherri Myers. Hill was the contact person for the committee.

Mayor D.C. Reeves demolished the building on March 6.
