The vote boiled down to Lindsey Cannon’s experience in the child services field versus Walker Wilson’s business approach.
Those who voted for Cannon repeatedly praised her experience, highlighting her work with budgets, contracts, and staff as a regional director for CHS.
David Peaden said he supported Wilson because he believed the organization needed to be shaken up. He wanted a director who was unafraid to tell people “no.” Peaden was also impressed with how Wilson has turned around the DIB’s image – before he took over, there was considerable talk about doing away with DIB.
