Breaking: City must show why hearing on Yonge should not be granted

Circuit Judge J.J. Frydrychowicz has ordered the City of Pensacola to show cause as to why a hearing on Jonathan Green’s request for a temporary restraining order on the demolition of the Malcolm Yonge Gym should not be granted.

The pleading or motion must be filed by 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 29.

  1. Where’s Charter Review Commission Chairwoman Crystal Spencer when we need her? She and the commission’s legal counsel Margaret Stopp wrote the charter to include the part about the Power of Referendum. It was discussed at GREAT length during the CRC’s last meeting on August 19, 2009. The meeting minutes held by the City Clerk are 79-pages long. Mayor Reeves father Jim Reeves a member of the CRC was present too. Travis Peterson was present. Isn’t there anyone who can talk Mayor Reeves out of his scheme to violate the city constitution? Does he really want to be recalled from office?
