Breaking: Escambia public students cannot take AP Psychology

Early this morning, I received texts that the Escambia County School Board had voted on July 31 to not offer AP Psychology at the IB program at Pensacola High School – where about 50 students had signed up for it.

We have been trying to get confirmation from the district administration without any success.

A few minutes ago, the Orlando Sentinel reported the College Board has said the Florida Department of Education told school superintendents they could offer AP psychology only if lessons on sexual orientation and gender identity were omitted. The College Board has refused to be censored. Read more.

About 27,000 statewide had signed up for the AP class for the 2023-24 school year.

This is a developing story. We will have more later.
