Breaking: Nom closing

Nom Sushi Izakaya Closing January 29th after 7 Years on South Palafox

January 19, 2022 – Pensacola, FL: As local favorite, Nom Sushi Izakaya, nears its 8-year anniversary, owners Elizabeth & Brad Jones have made the decision to close their doors. Although still enjoying successful nightly dinner service and a following of loyal customers, the two restaurateurs are ready to take some time to focus on growth, health, and planning for the future of their business.

The loyalty of the Pensacola community helped Nom and its employees survive what was an extremely tough time for everyone in the service industry. The Joneses are incredibly grateful for the support of their family, friends, team, and valued customer base. Owner, Elizabeth Jones, says, “This hasn’t been an easy decision but it’s one that we’re proud of. Nom has been an absolute labor of love and an honor to bring to life. We’re excited to take this time to focus on growth, health, and planning for the future of our business.”

Diners still have time to visit and enjoy their favorite sushi, shared plates, and signature house-made ramen. With the support of their chefs and wait staff, Nom will continue dinner service, Tuesday-Saturday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. through Jan. 29. The Joneses are excited to host guests through this date to mingle and toast to the future!

Located in the “SoGo” neighborhood of downtown Pensacola, Nom Sushi Izakaya has been a unique staple for locals and tourists alike. The goal of providing the community with a contemporary environment to enjoy an innovative sushi menu, house-made ramen, and an expertly matched selection of sake, beer, and wine was realized in 2014 and has been a favorite on the Pensacola food scene from the very beginning.

This is not the last you’ll see of these dynamic restaurateurs or their creativity, discerning taste, and signature style. “It’s not goodbye, it’s see ya later. Kanpai!”
