I spoke with State Rep. Alex Andrade last yesterday afternoon. He has put into the budget a stipulation that the Florida Department of Transportation will take $6 million out of the remaining funds for the construction for Chappie James Bridge and make it available for road and infrastructure improvements in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties.
Andrade praised Sen. Doug Broxson’s help in making it possible. Broxson chairs the Senate Appropriations Committee, and Andrade heads the House Infrastructure and Tourism Appropriations Subcommittee.
