Breeze Airways doubles Tampa flights from Pensacola

Breeze Airways is expanding its service between Pensacola International Airport (PNS) and Tampa International Airport (TPA), doubling flight frequency beginning June 5. This move represents another boost for the growing regional airport and comes as the airline prepares to launch new Raleigh-Durham service later this month.

The Expansion

The carrier will now operate four times weekly between the two Florida cities:

This doubles the current twice-weekly schedule, providing more flexible options for both business and leisure travelers.

  • “We’re thrilled to see Breeze Airways expanding its service at Pensacola International Airport to Tampa and Raleigh-Durham,” Pensacola Mayor D.C. Reeves said. “This growth enhances connectivity for our residents and visitors and strengthens Pensacola’s position as a premier travel destination.”

Airport Director Matt Coughlin emphasized the significance of the increased service, noting it “underscores the growing demand for travel to and from Pensacola.” He also highlighted that the Tampa expansion complements the previously announced Raleigh-Durham service launching April 30.

Dig Deeper: Breeze Airways, founded by aviation entrepreneur David Neeleman, began serving Pensacola in June last year. The airline has built its business model around providing affordable fares with greater flexibility than traditional carriers.

“Breeze added Pensacola to our network in June last year, and it’s great to see the demand continue to grow as we double service to Tampa,” said Neeleman. “We now offer five destinations from Pensacola.”

Why This Matters: The expanded service strengthens Pensacola’s transportation infrastructure at a critical time for the region’s tourism economy. The move also reinforces Pensacola International Airport’s growing importance as a regional hub.
