BTW: Trump won Nevada, followed by Rubio, Cruz

The Nevada GOP caucuses gave Donald Trump his third consecutive primary victory. The billionaire gained 46 percent of the vote and walked away with 12 more delegates.

Sen. Marco Rubio had 24 percent and got five delegates. Sen. Ted Cruz had 21 percent and also received five delegates. Dr. Ben Carson and Ohio Gov. John Kasich each failed to get more that 5 percent and received no delegates.

The 46 percent of the vote Trump received is the highest percentage won by any Republican presidential candidate in any state to date. If anyone is to unseat him, the other candidates will have to unite behind Rubio or Cruz. Right now, it appears Rubio may have an edge.

Cruz’s campaign depends on the evangelical Christian vote. The entrance and exit polling in Nevada showed that the senator only carried only 27 percent of that demographic, while Trump got 41 percent.

Rubio needs to make a push on Super Tuesday, March 1 and continue to pick up delegates.
