Budget signing a private event

Current.com reports Gov. Rick Scott’s signing of the state budget at The Villages retirement community was not open to the public, despite being in a public square. Declaring the town square event to be “private,” Scott’s staffers had Sumter County sheriff’s deputies remove Democrats and those with “liberal-looking pins and buttons” from the event. Read more.
