Business association endorses Florida House candidates, skips Senate race

The National Federation of Independent Business, Florida’s leading small-business association, today announced its endorsed candidates in several panhandle legislative races. The endorsements were made by NFIB/Florida SAFE (Save America’s Free Enterprise) Trust, which is comprised exclusively of NFIB members.

“Small business owners are facing huge workers compensation hikes from bad Florida Supreme Court opinions. Electing a pro-small business legislature has never been more important,” said Bill Herrle, NFIB/Florida Executive Director. “The endorsed candidates have demonstrated that they genuinely understand the challenges that small business owners in Florida are facing.”

“Small business creates two out of three jobs for Florida’s economy, so it’s important that we have a legislature that supports small business and supports free enterprise,” said Herrle.

The NFIB/Florida SAFE Trust endorsement is based on a candidate’s voting record, interviews, and questionnaire regarding key small-business issues including healthcare, taxes, tort, labor, and regulatory issues. The endorsement brings the considerable grassroots support of more than 10,500 of Florida’s small-businesses.

The group did not announce an endorsement in the race between Doug Broxson and Mike Hill for Greg Evers’ senate seat.
