Buzz: Drug dealers set bounties

Sources have shared that a new frightening wrinkle has developed in the escalating gun violence in Pensacola and Escambia County. Drug dealers have begun to place bounties on their enemies, some as high as $50,000. In many cases, the killers are prepaid and given guns to make the hit. Anyone who takes the money and fails to make the kill  becomes a target.

As one person told me: “Too much drug money is flowing on the streets. Guns are readily accessible.  And life means nothing.”

He said, “You take a 15-year-old boy who has nothing, give him $25,000 cash, a gun and drop off him on the street where his target lives. He has to kill or be killed.”
