Sources close to the House leadership shared with Inweekly that Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-FL1) will be named to the House Armed Services and Budget committees. Both assignments are good fits for Gaetz.
His district has several key military bases including NAS Pensacola, Whiting Field, Hurlburt AFB, and Elgin AFB. While serving in the Florida House, Gaetz chaired the House Finance and Tax Committee.
Yesterday, Gaetz delivered his first speech on the House Floor in favor of HR 26 REINS Act, which requires congressional approval for approve all new major regulations promulgated by federal regulatory agencies.
