Buzz: Girl beaten in Morris Court, may be taken off life support

During today’s MLK Parade people were talking about another murder inside the city limits. My sources told me that a teenage girl was badly beaten last night at Morris Court, a housing project off Cervantes inside the city of Pensacola.

The rumor is the assault is a spillover from the Pine Forest vs. Pensacola High basketball game last weekend. A friend of the family said that the victim isn’t dead, but the girl may be pulled off life-support soon.

While I was hearing this, I watched from my office window in the downtown parade white politicians drive by – some dressed in Mardi Gras attire – throwing beads from convertibles. Surreal.
