Buzz: Gov. Scott appears to oppose ‘Charlotte’s Web’ bill

The word out of Tallahassee is Gov. Rick Scott will oppose the bill that would legalize “Charlotte’s Web,’ the strain of marijuana that would help children suffering from severe epileptic seizures. At this morning’s House committee hearing, the Scott’s surgeon general spoke against the bill.

The bill did got out of the House Judiciary Committee, 15-3. However one of the dissenting votes was Rep. Dennis Baxley, who chairs that committee. The legislation, sponsored by Rep. Matt Gaetz, will now go to the House floor for debate.
