I’m hearing that the U.S. Senate and House are  balking at the Restore Act – which would guarantee that the majority of the BP fine money related to the 201o oil spill would come to the the states most effected by the disaster – Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas. Both Republicans and Democrats are wanting to hoard the funds -which will be in the billions-for their pet projects.
It’s a shame to see partisan politics derail the bill which would dedicate BP Clean Water Act fines to Gulf Coast states for the purposes of ecosystem and economic restoration.
