Superintendent Malcolm Thomas is scurrying around trying to salvage a sale of the closed Brownsville Middle School after his Krispy Kreme power-play fell through. The word on the street is Habitat for Humanity may buy part of the land (the six acres that Thomas had craved out before Friendship Missionary Baptist Church made its final offer) and another non-profit will take over the buildings. If an offer is made, it will be interesting to see the details.
