My phone rang several times late last night on several topics. Here the rumors that seem to have some legs – but understand they are only buzz and haven’t been proved…yet
1. Commissioner Gene Valentino may not be out of the woods with Gov. Charlie Crist. The governor has the power to remove Valentino because of the indictment. There is a buzz that Crist may remove him and put Dave Murzin in the seat.
2. Karen Sindel and her husband are now being followed regularly by a private investigator—probably linked to the Mark Clabaugh arrest. Someone is still out to dig up dirt on them. Shades of W.D. Childers, Joe Webb and Ronnie McNesby
3. Democratic candidates are coming to town. State Senator Dave Aronberg, who chairs the Florida Senate Military Affairs and Domestic Security Committee Chair, will be in Pensacola tomorrow. Aronberg is running for Attorney General. Congressman Kendrick Meek, the Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate, will be here Sunday and Monday. (This buzz item has been confirmed).
